Collaborating with others is a central element of my work. In this section I highlight three primary relationships in my life and work.
The Fiber Arts Collective in Ashland Oregon is a space where fiber artists come together to collaborate, work, teach, and sell their work. amazing community resource was born. Created in the middle of the pandemic it has in a short time it has become a creative inspiration to fiber and textile artists throughout the area
PLAYA (pronounced “ply-uh”) is a nonprofit organization supporting positive change for our world and environment through work in the arts, literature, natural sciences, and other fields of creative inquiry. Located at the northwestern edge of the Great Basin in south-central Oregon, PLAYA sits at the base of Winter Ridge, which rises to 7,200 feet. PLAYA’s campus, at an elevation of 4,200 feet, borders Summer Lake to the west. Summer Lake is 20 miles long and five miles wide and is defined as a playa, which is a seasonal desert lake, shallow in the winter and spring, and dry in the summer and fall.
Diane Ericson is an artist and designer living in Ashland, Oregon. In her 35 years of teaching, Diane has provided art and design classes for public schools and guilds, teacher training programs, art therapy workshops, creativity coaching and numerous retreats. She is fascinated by how we learn and evolve as creative beings. In addition to her design work she hosts four creative retreats a year featuring guest artists.
